Bay Street remains most expensive Canadian offices

Toronto’s Bay Street has maintained its position as the most expensive for office leasing in Canada for a sixth consecutive year.

Figures from JLL show that the street in the Financial District outranks all others in Canada despite a reduction in average rent from $68.19 per square foot in 2015 to $67.31 in 2016.

"Although every other city and street has changed in some degree over the last six years, the demand and prestige of leasing in Toronto's financial district has consistently propelled Bay Street to the top of this list", states Brett Miller, President of JLL Canada.

Second on the list is Vancouver’s Burrard Street at $57.81, while René-Lévesque West Boulevard in Montreal is third at $47.81.
