Canadians say their home is most important possession

Personal keepsakes and family heirlooms may be treasured by Canadians but most value their home above all else.

A poll by Allstate Insurance Company of Canada found that 88 per cent of respondents rank their home as their most important possession. The figure was even higher among millennials in Nova Scotia (98 per cent), Gen-Xers in Alberta (90 per cent) and Baby Boomers in Ontario (95 per cent) and Alberta (93 per cent).

The survey also found that Canadians take pride in their homes with 68 per cent having made an upgrade in the past 5 years.
