Condo owner files lawsuit after meeting held in Mandarin

A British Columbia townhouse owner has filed a lawsuit after being invited to a condo association meeting and being told it would be conducted in Mandarin. Andreas Kargut from Richmond has made his complaint under Human Rights legislation on the grounds that a condo meeting is held by a legal entity which should use English or French to communicate to members. The Ottawa Citizen reports that the condo association denies allegations of racism or discrimination and said that it was about finding methods that work. They noted that all written communications were in English.
