Household spending keeps on growing

Canadians kept spending despite economic concerns according to figures from payment solutions firm Moneris. Its quarterly report shows a 6.8 per cent rise in consumer spending for the third quarter of 2015 with BC (up 10.2 per cent) and Ontario (up 9 per cent) leading the way. Alberta saw a 2.6 per cent rise in spending, up 0.3 per cent on the same period last year. The report suggests that Canadians were borrowing much of the money to fuel their spending, as interest rates made borrowing easier; others would have used savings.
