Mortgage lender rolls out new ABM network

Despite a large increase in customers managing their banking requirements online Manulife Financial is rolling out a new network of automated banking machines in Mac’s and Circle K branches in nine provinces during the summer. The mortgage lender’s customers have limited access to its own machines currently; there are just 12 across the whole country; but by September there will be 830. The Globe and Mail reports that although ABMs are associated mostly with cash withdrawals Manulife is planning to add additional services to the machines. This could mean that customers will be able to access their mortgage and other lending information while grocery shopping.
