Evan Siddall is the newly appointed CEO of CMHC
The newly appointed chief executive officer of the Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation (CMHC) brings years of experience in tow, including heading projects at the Bank of Canada designed to strengthen the Canadian fiscal and monetary systems.
Prior to joining the bank in 2011 as a special adviser to its governor, Evan Siddall held important functions at top international securities and investment firm Goldman Sachs.
Siddall will start his five-year term as CMHC CEO on January 1. He is a Toronto native who obtained his law degree from York University’s Osgoode, later serving at Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, Fort Reliance Co. and Bank of Montreal.
In a statement announcing this latest appointment, Siddall said he looks forward to “working with its dedicated staff, clients and stakeholders to ensure that Canadians continue to benefit from CMHC’s key role in providing an affordable and accessible system, as well as promoting a strong financial system.”
