Vancouver realtors blanket drive helps 17,000

The annual Realtors Care Blanket Drive has helped more than 17,000 homeless people in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland this year. Over 100 local real estate offices have been acting as collection points since Dec. 16 and realtors have been sorting and distributing donations via local charities. “These donations serve a real need and make a difference in communities across the region,” Darcy McLeod, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver president said. “We’d like to thank our volunteers and everyone who donated to this year’s program.” The annual charity program has been running since 1994 and is the longest-running of its kind in BC.
