Waterloo home sales slip in September, year-to-date higher

There was an 11 per cent drop in home sales in the Kitchener-Waterloo region in September compared with the same month in 2014. Kitchener-Waterloo Association of Realtors says that there were 395 sales in the month, down from 444 a year earlier. However the dip follows a bumper year with the first 9 months of sales reaching 4,393 which is the highest level for the period since 2008 and a 4.6 per cent gain from the same period last year.

Prices were mixed with the overall average sales price rising by 2.4 per cent year-over-year to $347,633. Single-family detached home prices were down 1 per cent to $387,219 while condos increased 6.2 per cent from last year to $246,933.
