BC developer sentenced for tax fraud

A real estate developer has been sentenced to 9 months house arrest and 150 hours of community service for tax evasion.

Rajinder Singh Mann of Surrey, BC was also ordered to pay a fine of $462,092 within 2 years, representing 100% of the GST/HST taxes he evaded.

Mann, the sole director and shareholder of Millennium Century Investments Ltd., pleaded guilty in January of not reporting and paying the tax due to the CSA following the sale of 44 townhouses in a Maple Ridge development.

All 44 units were sold between May 2010 and October 2011.
