BMO leads industry in Thomson Reuters diversity rankings

For diversity and inclusion, BMO Financial Group is an industry leader according to Thomson Reuters.

The annual Global Diversity & Inclusion Index ranks the top 100 companies on key metrics and deems them to be "very likely to be the best in class relative to their industry and country peers."

"We're proud of our progress and remain unwavering in our commitment creating an inclusive environment for our people, our customers and our communities."

The list for 2018 is topped by global professional services firm Accenture, with BMO taking the 23rd place, the only bank to make the top 25 and its second consecutive year in the top flight.

The firm has reached several targets this year including 40% of senior leadership roles held by women and 25% of senior roles are held by Minorities or Persons of Colour.

Two other Canadian financial firms are new entries to the top 100 this year: Scotiabank and Sun Life Financial which are tied in 52nd place.
