Canada's economy added another 74K jobs in July

Canada’s labour market continues to expand with another 73,700 jobs added in July compared to the previous month.

The ADP Canada National Employment Report shows that trade/transportation and utilities added the most jobs (18,100) while leisure and hospitality (12,000), construction (11,400), professional/business services (9,500), and manufacturing (7,800) were also strong sectors in the month.

The largest loss was in the educational services sector (down 4,000) but the education and healthcare sector was up overall (by 5,400) as the healthcare sector added 9,300 to more than offset the losses in education.

"We saw strong job growth in July," said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. "The job gains were broadly distributed across the majority of industries with trade, leisure and hospitality, and construction leading the way."
