Canadian real estate marketplace sees strong US growth

Saskatoon-based real estate marketplace Point2Homes has celebrated a new milestone with more than 8 million visits to its site in a single month for the first time.

April’s traffic was 8.1 million with 80% of that organic; and visits from US users saw the largest jump (61%) with New York, generating the most visits, up 31% from a year earlier. Atlanta and Dallas saw the largest spikes in visits – 94% and 64% respectively.

Canadian-initiated visits gained 35% from a year earlier and accounted for 60% of the overall traffic.

Toronto continues to be the most appealing local market, attracting more than 645,000 visits and registering the largest year-over-year boost (+65%). Ottawa was next on the list with 232,000 visits, while Winnipeg, registered the second highest increase in traffic, 52% from the same month last year.

Among international destinations, Mexico generated the most visits, while Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic both showing the biggest traffic increases, 42%, and 55% respectively.

The firm says it generated 23% more leads for real estate agents this April compared to the same month last year.
