Global role at AY for Ontario real estate veteran

Avison Young has appointed Martin Dockrill as its chief operating officer, global operations.

The Ontario-based leader has been with the firm for 24 years including several management and transactional roles; most recently as managing director of the Ontario region.

He has brokered more than 10 million square feet of industrial and office space and sold more than $1 billion worth of investment properties during his career.

In his new role, Dockrill will report directly to Avison Young’s CEO Mark E. Rose and will oversee day-to-day operations, and be responsible for working with the firm’s other leaders to attract, develop, and retain talent.

Dockrill will continue to serve as a member of Avison Young’s global executive committee.
