Mortgage technology firm Finastra has appointed a new chief information officer to lead growth in its global information services team.

The firm, which has international offices including one in Toronto, has hired Gareth Burton from international construction firm Laing O’Rourke who will be based in London, UK.

His role includes overseeing the company’s enterprise core infrastructure and employee services, as well as supporting all business and financial applications.

Binns added that the ability to innovate and offer maximum flexibility to clients is essential at a time when the financial services industry is going through a revolution in the way it operates.
