Home sales were up 12.5 per cent year-over-year in the Ottawa market. There were 323 sales in the month, building on July by 1.8 per cent. The monthly stats from PMA Brethour Realty Group sets the scene for strong September sales too according to Patrick Meeds, the group’s head of new home sales: “While (year-to-date) sales are close to eight per cent off the five-year average, sales for the month came in two per cent above the five-year average for the first time in over a year. We expect September sales to continue to be positive” he told the Ottawa Citizen.
