The Financial Services Commission of Ontario has issued a warning about an unlicensed individual who appears to be soliciting mortgage business without a license.
Benito Allison, also known as Ben Allison, Ben Alliston, and Bini Del Rosso, is not licensed with the FSCO.
Additionally, the regulator says that Allison operates a company called 2557311 Ontario Inc., which appears to be associated with the company Money That Works; neither of these companies are licensed to conduct mortgage business in Ontario.
Benito Allison appears to be using telephone numbers 647-545-9765 and 905-453-7427. He also appears to be using the email address [email protected].
Money That Works and 2557311 Ontario Inc. appear to be using the street address 205-10 Gillingham DR Brampton, ONL6X 5A5, the phone number 905-453-7427, and the email address [email protected].
The FSCO says that anyone contacted by Allison or these companies should contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
It has also reiterated the risk of dealing with unregulated mortgage providers as they will not be protected under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act and its regulations that govern Ontario's licensed brokerages, brokers and agents.
