RE/MAX agents head to Vegas for international meet-up

Around 6,000 real estate agents and brokers from the RE/MAX network are meeting this week in Las Vegas.

It’s the firm’s 45th annual conference and brings together associates from 60 countries. The event is looking back at almost half a century of the firm and looking forward to the future of real estate.

CEO Adam Contos addressed the audience at the Opening General Session hosted by renowned business coach Brian Buffini, in which the achievements of the firm’s 115,000 agents from across the world were celebrated.

"Today we celebrate our roots and share plans on how we will continue to move our global real estate network forward. It's because of you that we can once again say…no one in the world sells more real estate than RE/MAX."

An internal investigation by the firm recently concluded that personal transactions of Contos, when he was COO; and former CEO David Liniger created an actual or apparent conflict of interest.

"Although the loan, gifts, and other transactions between the Linigers and Adam Contos did not involve use of any corporate funds, the special committee concluded that these transactions created an actual or apparent conflict of interest,” Lead Independent Director Dick Covey said.
