A new study shows how things have moved on from the days when it was important to just have a website and reveals the most searched-for lenders. The proportion of homebuyers who use their smartphones or tablets to shop mortgage rates is increasing sharply and a poor online experience will see them moving on to another site.
The new report from RateHub.ca reveals that Canadians searched for the word ‘mortgage’ more than 700,000 times a month in 2015 with the majority looking for rate calculators. Among the most searched-for mortgage lenders, the big banks come out top with RBC, TD and CIBC scoring the highest. Among mortgage brokers, Dominion is top followed by Multi-Prets, Butler and Northwood.
