The City of Toronto is inviting the city’s residents and other stakeholders to comment on housing requirements for the next decade.
The city’s HousingTO 2020-2030 Action Plan will shape housing policy for the next 10 years and the City has also created an external advisory committee made up of community members and organizations invested in meaningful housing outcomes for Toronto residents.
"I have made housing a top priority because we have heard loud and clear from residents about the importance they placed on the housing issue, especially the supply of affordable housing,” said Mayor John Tory. “The HousingTO 2020-2030 Action Plan will serve as the city's roadmap to address housing issues over the next 10 years. It will build on past success but it must look for new and innovative ways to move forward."
The consultation process includes an online survey, public consultation sessions, and the facility for groups to hold their own consultation forums.
"The recently released Toronto Market Analysis demonstrates the complexity and depth of our current and future housing challenges. We have high expectations that the new housing plan will engage all stakeholders in finding solutions." Added Deputy Mayor Ana Bailão.
