BC premier takes to YouTube to announce housing plan

The premier of British Columbia has promised to take action on housing affordability.

In a YouTube video Christy Clark says that the government is going to lay out a plan to help address housing affordability in the province over the coming weeks and months.

She acknowledged the impact that the cost of homes is having on families and the livability of the province and says that it’s “time for a determined effort” across all levels of government to keep owning a home “in the reach of the middle class.”

The key principles of the plan are: increasing housing supply; smart transit expansion; supporting first-time buyers; consumer protection; increasing rental supply; protecting the dream of home ownership.
