The ratings agency Standard & Poor’s has downgraded Saskatchewan from triple-A to AA+ amid concern over the province’s economic outlook.
S&P expects the provincial budget to run a deficit due to lower revenues from natural resources but also noted that the province has a more diverse resources base and is therefore likely to have less volatile finances than Alberta and Newfoundland.
