Quebec can withstand economic challenges says minister

The Quebec finance minister says that the province can withstand the economic challenges of a weakened Canadian dollar and lower oil prices. Carlos Leitao said that the economy in Quebec had been buoyant in the first quarter and second quarter figures should also show growth. Speaking to reporters Friday he said that the economy was better than last year and there is: "No question of a recession in Quebec.” He said that together with Ontario the province was the economic powerhouse of Canada.
