Renters in Quebec really need to speak to a mortgage broker

Almost half of renters in Quebec would consider buying a home if their mortgage payment was equal or lower than their rent and yet most haven’t talked to a mortgage advisor about it.

A Scotiabank survey found that just 21 per cent of Quebec renters have sought advice from a mortgage professional.

The survey also showed that those with children are more likely (58 per cent) than those without (44 per cent) to rent because they don’t have enough money for a home purchase. Overall, 47 per cent lacked the savings for a downpayment.
