Ottawa hosts worldwide appraisers gathering

Real estate appraisers from all over the world have been in Canada to meet and discuss developments within the valuation profession.

The gathering in Ottawa over the weekend was organized by the Appraisal Institute and the Appraisal Institute of Canada and was attended by around 600 real estate professionals.

“We are pleased to host valuation professionals from around the world to discuss issues and trends within the real estate valuation profession that have a significant impact on the domestic and global economy,” said 2016-17 Appraisal Institute of Canada President Dan Brewer, AACI, P.App.

Speakers focused on important valuation topics relevant to today’s domestic and global real estate markets which continually evolve due to technology, regulations, economic conditions and geo-political forces.

“As the real estate industry continues to be an important issue for consumers, investors, lenders and governments, valuation professionals must discuss and respond to the evolving needs of an increasingly dynamic and volatile real estate market,” added Brewer.
