Real estate agent smashes his own world record

Setting a world record for selling homes once is a remarkable achievement, but for one real estate agent it’s becoming a habit.

Ben Caballero of HomesUSA.com in Addison, Texas, became the first agent to achieve a Guinness World Record for home selling in 2016 when he sold 3,556 homes in the year.

That gave him the honour of being recognized as the world’s most productive real estate agent, officially noted for the "Most annual home sales transactions through MLS by an individual sell side real estate agent."

Following that in 2017 may have been tough but Caballero didn’t just come close, he smashed it.

His total sales volume in 2017 was 4,799 homes with a combined value of U$1.9 billion! That’s more than a dozen homes a day every day of 2017.

His winning market

Caballero lists homes for more than 60 builders and says the Texas market is key to his achievement.

"Texas is my not-so-secret sauce," said Caballero. "It's the nation's most vibrant home-building market, with Dallas-Fort Worth being the highest-ranked market for builders in the country. When one factors Houston's recovering from Hurricane Harvey, Austin's continuing its burgeoning pace and the unique qualities that make San Antonio attractive, Texas continues to prove itself a winner for home builders."

With fundamentals pointing to continued strength in the market, Caballero says he could even set a third-in-a-row record for home selling in 2018.
