A home here costs less than a pickup

An Ontario town has homes listed for less than the price of a new pickup. The CBC reports that Manitouwadge, north of Thunder Bay, has homes for as little as $14,000 with a three-bedroom bungalow listed at $30,000. Realtor Patricia Maltais, who has a monopoly in the town, has sold five homes so far in 2016 with the most expensive selling for $32,500.

Mayor Andy Major told the CBC that he hopes retirees may be attracted to the town by the cheap housing, as it proves hard to bring newcomers to the northeastern town.
