Alberta to lead national housing market performance in 2014

Alberta’s 2014 housing market will top the performance of all other Canadian provinces.

Alberta’s 2014 housing market will top the performance of all other Canadian provinces, according to the Global Real Estate Report, published in the Calgary Herald.

The report enumerates the following reasons for the superior growth: Alberta’s steady employment; a continuing demand for home loans; and its continuing population growth. These same factors will help counter the other developments that may temper housing demand in 2014, namely stagnant wages, affordability and rising household debt levels.

This projected 2014 trend will continue the steady climb of the Canadian housing market, which has enjoyed healthy growth the past two years.
