Banks need to work hard to restore trust

A group central bankers, regulators and economists says that the world’s banks need to work hard to restore trust in their industry. The G30’c chairman Jean-Claude Trichet said “Restoring public confidence needs to be a top priority for major banks and is long overdue.” Culture at banks and mortgage lenders in 16 countries was examined in recent survey for the group and concluded that reform of cultures and values was necessary in many.
