Burnside broker reacts to recognition, calls for change

A Burnside mortgage broker, recognised by Canadian Mortgage Professional as a woman of influence has been speaking at her surprise at being included. Dominion Lending Centre’s Audrey Wamboldt said she is both honoured and surprised and told Burnside News: “Certainly, it’s an honour to be recognized in this peer group.” She has also used the platform to highlight the challenges faced by brokers in rural parts of the country, especially Atlantic Canada. She says that often mortgage lenders are not as ready to lend as they are in urban areas. Ms. Wamboldt is also calling for the federal government to take a more regional approach to lending regulations which may calm Toronto and Vancouver markets but hurt Atlantic Canada.
