Young Canadians are being challenged to transform the affordable rental market.

The CMHC has officially launched its Student Challenge for Affordable Rental Housing as part of the federal government’s Affordable Rental Innovation Fund.

Students are tasked with coming up with a fresh approach to affordable rentals and can work in teams or individuals.

“Our future rests in the hands of today’s youth so what better group of people to approach for this unique challenge. The Student Challenge for Affordable Rental Housing is an inspirational initiative filled with promise and excitement for what is to come. I am eager to see how these dynamic contributors can change the face of affordable rental housing in Canada.”

said Jean-Yves Duclos, the minister responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
