CMHC chief warns national housing policy expectations too costly

As the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation continues its “Let’s Talk Housing” consultations, its chief executive says that the ideas that people are hoping for would likely cost too much.

Evan Siddall told BNN that people’s expectations would be unlikely to fit within Ottawa’s budget for a national housing policy and that full details of the corporation’s recommendations will not be made public.

The CMHC proposals to tackle the growing issue of housing affordability will only be seen by the federal government.
