Edmonton Tower set to dwarf Calgary

A new condo tower in Edmonton will become the tallest building in Alberta and the seventh tallest skyscraper in Canada. The Stantec Tower, currently being built in the Ice District, is now up to 66 storeys from an initial 62. The 251-metre building will house hundreds of people in its upper 36 floors with 454 condo units. That’s an increase from the 320 homes originally planned. The lower floors will include office and retail space while the building will link with the adjacent hotel. The tallest building in Canada remains First Canadian Place in Toronto at 298 metres and 72 storeys.
