Landlords cash-in from long election campaign

If you’ve had enough of the election campaign and are keen to get to the voting then you’re probably not one of the landlords cashing-in on the extended period. A typical 5-weeks of campaigning has turned into 11 this time but for landlords with high-visibility retail space it’s meant an opportunity to rent to the parties vying for our votes. Bill Argeropoulos of Avison Young told The Financial Post that for property owners with vacant space it’s been a great additional income:  “Some of the high-rise condo units have ground floor retail not yet leased or awaiting a tenant and can be used temporarily for an office for a candidate.”
