More Canadians worried about personal finances

Canadians were generally feeling more optimistic about the economy last week according to a survey from Bloomberg and Nanos Research. The Canadian Consumer Confidence Index was up to 52.17 (from 52.07 a week earlier) however when broken down things are less positive. While there was an increase in those feeling positive in the economy and job security over the next six months, there was lower sentiment for real estate prices and personal finances including mortgages. Those respondents in Quebec and BC were less optimistic than elsewhere and homeowners are not as confident as renters.
