Ontario opens new affordable housing units in Kitchener

The Ontario federal government opens new affordable housing units in Kitchener, providing more housing to low-income earners and people with disabilities.

The 39 new units offer a common room and shared laundry services for tenants.  The property also contains two four-storey buildings that were funded by a $4-million investment by the federal government.  The Region of Waterloo also chipped in with $155,820  while the City of Kitchener contributed $114,982.

The Kitchener housing unit is covered by the annual $2 billion investment in affordable housing and property development created by the Canadian government  in partnership with the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
