An Ottawa man is selling his innovative solution to high house prices and a large mortgage; a shipping container converted into a home. The cabin, built from three shipping containers, comes complete with a kitchen and solar-powered heating, although lacks a bathroom! Joseph Dupuis told The Huffington Post: "I see my friends buying $400,000 houses and they're in debt for the next 35 years. It's pretty backwards — we don't need these expensive homes and all this stuff we have in our lives." The home would not be for everyone; there’s no electricity for example but he says it costs him $35 a month through the winter.
