Realtors awarded for charity, community commitment

Two realtors from British Columbia were recognised this week for their commitment to charity and community causes. The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver awarded Chris Chan and Jimi Brockett with the REALTORS Care® Award at REBGV’s annual Medallion Club Awards gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Brockett of Dexter Associates Realty in Vancouver lost his son Ryder to brain cancer and captains the Ride to Conquer Cancer team Riders for Ryder, which has raised more than $2 million since 2009.

Chan, of Regent Park Realty in Vancouver, founded the Young Ambassadors Program which creates projects for youth across the Lower Mainland to volunteer and fundraise for BC Children’s Hospital. His son was diagnosed with leukemia at three years old and Chan was inspired by the hospital’s work during his recovery.
