Tempers boil over at housing forum

In a demonstration of the impact that Vancouver’s high cost of housing is having on the community, there were angry voices at an emergency housing forum Wednesday. As well as anger, frustration was a key reason for attendance.

The Vancouver Sun reports that 600 people attended the meeting held by MLA David Eby to discuss the real estate market in the Lower Mainland. Eby wants more action from the provincial government and says that people are not necessarily concerned about their own situation: “The frustration that people have is they think their kids aren’t going to be able to afford to live here, they see the communities they love really no longer belonging to the community.”
