This province has seen a surge in realtors

The booming housing market in Vancouver and the surrounding areas is driving a surge in the number of real estate agents in the province. The Real Estate Council of British Columbia says that there are a record 22,005 licensed realtors this year and there has also been an increase in membership of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver to a record 12,200. The Province reports that the number of people taking the online licensing exam from the Sauder School of Business is near the peak level pre-recession with around 2,000 new realtors set to begin operating this year. Not all of the realtors are full-timers though; many are in business alongside other full-time jobs, attracted by the strength of the BC housing market.
