Housing starts are slowing down for Thunder Bay’s housing market, data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. has revealed.
The latest report said only three single-detached homes were started in April.
“That's two more than last April, when winter weather continued through to the end of the month”, TB News Watch said.
Thunder Bay’s 10-year average for April is six single family home starts.
The housing regulator, however, said the local resale market is strengthening, “and that, combined with a slight increase in building permit applications, bodes well for construction numbers over the next few months.”
