Windsor-Essex home sales up 10 per cent in 2016

Home sales in Windsor-Essex county increased by 10.4 per cent in 2016 compared to the previous year as December ended with a strong year-over-year gain.

The year saw sales increase steadily through the year and ended with an 18.73 per cent rise in December despite market activity declining 4.7 per cent in the month, Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors said.

Prices also increased through 2016 with an 8.49 per cent gain in December to an average of $220,053 while annual prices gained around 12 per cent.
